1) тег, метка, признак; управляющий кода) команда, вставляемая в документ и определяющая, как приложению следует форматировать документ или его часть; теги используются во всех языках, предусматривающих хранение документов в виде текстовых файлов, в частности SGML и HTML. Тегом может называться также специальный символ - метка раздела документа, содержащего команду форматирования. В языке HTML - тег начинается знаком "" и завершается знаком "". Как правило, в HTML теги используются парами.
